1-Assessment and Qualification of Technology level of the all locally made Automatic Washing Machines: This project, conducted for the first time in Iran, was the investigation of the performance and safety tests according to standards, and assessment of each product’s design and technology as well as its components. The project was awarded to HARC by MoIaM and sponsored by manufacturers and the Iranian standards and Industrial Research Institute (ISIRI) on March 1995. 2- Compilation of Energy Consumption Standard and Energy Label Design for Automatic Washing Machines: The energy label has been designed for the first time in Iran through this project. Data gathering, study, selection of the appropriate basis, conduction of energy tests and performance assessment on selected Iran made washing machines, and finally, design and compilation of the products energy label. The project was carried out for the Ministry of energy, and MoIaM, in 1996. 3- Design of Automatic Gas Burners for Water Heaters and Wall Mounted Package Units: This project, Carried out for Butane Co., has deigned and calculated technical requirements of atmospheric burners (for gas burning water heater) for the first time in Iran. Special software was also produced for complete design of such burners. The project was conducted in 1998. 4- Energy Reduction for R12F Refrigerators and FR9F Freezer: Regarding introduction of energy labels for refrigerators and freezers، the necessity of energy reduction of products become obvious for many manufacturers. Iran Pooya Co. was one of them. Two models of the company‘s refrigerators and freezers were selected and carried out using computer simulation and optimization tests. As a result, with the best modifications and using only ”Refrigeration System Balance” the performance grade of the products has improved three levels. The project has implemented during October 1996 to March 1998. 5- Compilation of Design Procedure for Draught Diverter for Wall Mounted Water Heaters and Package Units: A classic way for design of Draught Diverter based on scientific basis of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics (AGA Reports) was done for Butan Co. in 1998. 6- Energy Reduction for ARF-12 Fridge-freezer: Using computerized modeling of refrigeration cycle on a fridge-freezer of Azmayesh Co., %40 reduction in energy consumption was enquired. This was gained without any new investment needed for modification of production, tools And dies. This project was implemented during 1997-1998. 7- Refrigeration Cycle Design for 12ft Refrigerator and Supervision on Producing Jig & Fixture, Die for Vacuums of the Product Inner Shell: The project conducted in 1998 was carried out for Pars machine Co. 8- Design and Standardization of Residential High Rise Buildings Chimneys for Gas Appliance Use : Instructions for design with a computer software for calculation of size, selection of material, etc, for chimneys were provided according to the latest international standards. The project was carried out for Butan Co. in 1997. 9- Standard of Energy Consumption and Energy label Design for Gas Burning Home Appliances: One of the most important “national projects” in the field of energy consumption criterion and standards is done by HARC company. All available information and technical, technological and standards throughout the world are collected and analyzed. At the same time, tests on performance and energy consumption are carried out on selected gas burning space heaters, instantaneous and storage water heaters, boiler burners and wall mounted package units .As a result, a comprehensive standard is going to be compiled and energy labels would be designed for each product. The work for space heaters and instant water heaters has been completed and “National Criteria Approval Committee" has approved the related standards and other products are in the pipeline. The project has begun from April 2001. 10- Replacement of Kerosene with Electricity in Heaters used in rural areas: This feasibility study carried out during 2001 to 2002, has studied the following factors: Surveying international experiences in the field, Study of Iranian villages and their household consumption, technical, technological and economical study of heating, cooking, water heating with kerosene and electricity, analyzing cultural and social aspect of replacing the new energy source, study of technical capability to implement the project, estimation of economic requirements of energy sources replacement, identification of possible areas for successful project implementations. 11- Energy Management in Appliance Industry: This project analyzing the electricity consumptions in various appliance factories was carried out in 1996. 12- Design an Evaporative Cooler for Peykan Passenger car: Arj Corporation awarded the project to HARC to design a mass-produced cooler for Peykan in 1996. The theoritical phase of this project is completed. 13- Study of Energy Consumptions Criteria in gas and Kerosene Burning Home Appliances: The project carried out for “International Energy Studies institute” in 1999,was aimed to reduce consumption of gas and kerosene burning appliances. Ten products were selected and comprehensively analyzed including: kerosene and gas burning space heaters, instant gas burning water heater, conventional gas and kerosene burning water heaters, conventional ranges and gas burning package units. Study of international standards as well as the countries laboratory facilities, product design technology used, and testing the related products and possibility of providing energy labels for them were among the activities during the project. 14- Studying Air Handling Unit Filters, Standard and Technology: Carried out for Butane Co. in 1999, related standards were identified and source out. The existing technologies used in production of industrial air filters for air- conditioning industry were provided. |
